Description
What we find interesting:
In the Netherlands, we waste approximately 2 billion kilos of food annually. Much of this waste occurs early in the supply chain, at the farm. Fruits and vegetables that don't meet strict supermarket standards—such as pumpkins that are too big or too small, apples with blemishes, or cherries damaged by flooding—are declared unfit. This is despite them still being perfectly edible! No Waste Army is committed to combating this and giving these products a second chance.

3 more reasons to become a fighter against food waste:
- Approximately 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted annually worldwide, representing a third of total food production. With just 25% of this waste, we could feed 870 million people.
- Food waste contributes to 8-10% of global CO₂ emissions annually. If food waste were a country, it would be the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases after the US and China.
- By saving food that would otherwise be wasted, you can contribute to systemic change: the more people join NoWasteArmy, the more pressure there will be on major supermarket chains to adjust their policies for food that doesn't look perfect.
