Electric Car Sharing: shared cars in the heart of the neighborhood
In De Pijp, around 20 electric cars have been placed in fixed shared spaces. You reserve them via an app, drive, and park at the shared space. The initiative was started by residents, together with the municipality, to promote space and cleaner transportation in the neighborhood. Anyone who lives in De Pijp and has had a driver's license for at least one year can participate.
Why do we like it? Because we don't all need our own car. In the city, cars are parked an average of 95% of the time, while they take up a lot of space. With a shared car, you only use what you need, leaving more space for green spaces, play areas, and cycling.
