Request a façade garden: make your street greener Through this scheme, you can ask the municipality of Amsterdam to convert a section of pavement into a narrow garden along your façade. The city removes the tiles and lays soil, while you take care of planting and maintenance. Façade gardens make streets more inviting, help rainwater soak into the ground, cool the neighbourhood during hot weather, and provide more space for plants and insects.
