Floating Farm – Floating sustainable farm and dairy production Floating Farm is an innovative floating farm in Rotterdam’s Merwehaven where healthy dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, and butter are produced in a circular and sustainable way. The cows are fed with residual streams from the city, and the farm works to reduce food transport and food waste, while transparency, animal welfare, and climate adaptation are central.



Why do we like this? We find Floating Farm special because it shows how food production can return to the city in a smart and sustainable way, contributing to local, circular food chains.
