Description
Herenboeren – Running your own farm together
Herenboeren is a citizen initiative where approximately 250 households jointly own a small-scale, sustainable farm in their region. A professional farmer grows vegetables, fruit, and sometimes eggs and meat for the group, in a way that benefits the soil and biodiversity. As a participant, you have a say in what is produced and eat locally, seasonally, and without unnecessary packaging or intermediaries.
Why do we like it? Because Herenboeren shows that things can be done differently: food that is produced fairly and locally, without unnecessary intermediaries. You know where your food comes from, eat seasonally, and contribute to a food system that benefits people, animals, and nature.
