Land of Ours: citizens buying farmland for biodiversity Land of Ours is a citizens’ co-operative in which participants collectively purchase agricultural land to make Dutch farmland more nature-friendly again. The co-operative leases the land to farmers who work it under nature- and soil-friendly conditions, allowing flowers, insects and birds to return. As a participant, you become a co-owner of the land and have voting rights within the co-operative.



Why do we like this? Because as a citizen you can directly help to green farmland and bring back biodiversity, with real influence through shared ownership.
