Help count bees in your own garden
During the National Bee Count, you can count bees and hoverflies in your garden, on your balcony, or in the park for half an hour. A handy identification card on nationalebijentelling.nl will show you which species you encounter and help researchers better protect bees.
Why do we like it? Because 30 minutes of counting really makes an impact. In 2024, over 3,500 people participated and more than 77,000 bees were counted. Wild bees are essential for our food and ecosystem, but many species are under pressure. Counting helps to better protect bees.
