National Garden Butterfly Count
Participate in the National Garden Butterfly Count and help researchers by counting butterflies in your garden once a year.
Description
National Garden Butterfly Count – Become a citizen scientist in your own garden:
Every year, the Butterfly Foundation organizes the Garden Butterfly Count.
Anyone with a garden, balcony, or green space can participate: count all the butterflies you see for fifteen minutes and report your observations via vlindermee.nl.
The data will be used to monitor butterfly populations in the Netherlands and to better inform nature conservation policy.

Why do we like it? Because with fifteen minutes of counting, you can make a real impact. Butterflies are important indicators of the state of nature.
The data helps researchers discover trends and raise awareness of biodiversity in their own environment.
