Thuismakerscollectief: Places that feel like home
In Amsterdam-West, the Homemakers Collective collaborates with residents to create places that truly belong to the neighborhood. They contributed to projects like KIEM, where children learn about water and wind power, how to compost vegetables, and which plants are edible. They also created the Wachterliedpaviljoen, a meeting place with a social program. The Homemakers Collective supports neighborhood initiatives and explores how a neighborhood can be inviting and livable for everyone.
Why do we like it? Because this collective shows how you can make your neighborhood greener, more social, and more creative, together with others. Not top-down, but by giving residents a central role.
