Climate Talk:
Description
Talk by Ingeborg de Lange, followed by a discussion
On Saturday 12 September, many people took part in the Climate March. But what happens next? How can we ensure that the sense of solidarity and engagement we felt during the march doesn't fade away? How can we prevent major climate issues from making us feel powerless – or from simply looking the other way?
“Perhaps one of the greatest sins of our time is that we are becoming indifferent to the state of the Earth.”
This concern prompted local resident Erik van Praag to approach De Eester. Erik has been worried about our relationship with the climate for many years and has written several books on the subject. He was deeply moved by a recent talk given by Ingeborg de Lange and would like to share that experience with the neighbourhood.
Ingeborg de Lange is a theatre educator and climate and peace activist with extensive experience in campaigning and a strong focus on bringing people together. She is involved in organising the climate vigil at the Dominicus Church, as well as various campaigns for animal welfare and against fossil fuels.
We will also take time to share our concerns, perspectives and ideas about what we can do together.
You are warmly invited to join us at De Eester on Monday 9 November for Ingeborg’s talk, followed by a discussion with the neighbourhood. Please register using the button at the top left of this page.
