Fresh Produce Market at Amstel1

Every Friday and Saturday, there’s a new fresh produce market at Amstel1, between Waterlooplein and the Stopera. Think of bread baked that very morning, vegetables sourced directly from the region, and producers you can look straight in the eye whilst doing your shopping. You’ll also find chefs cooking up all sorts of delicious treats right there on the spot. La Spaghetta serves up fresh pasta, and just a few stalls further on you’ll find yourself at the Surinamese Buffet. The aim of this new fresh produce market? ‘To show that food doesn’t have to be the same old, same old that you find everywhere, and to let Amsterdammers rediscover the flavours of their own city.’ No middlemen – just honest food, straight from producer to your bag. That way, you know exactly where your food comes from, and you’re directly supporting local farmers, chefs and producers from across the city, from the Bijlmer to Noord. You’ll find the market every Friday and Saturday from 10.00 to 17.00 at Amstel1. The location is between Waterlooplein and the Stopera. Entry is free.
