Global Week of Action to Stop Incineration – 13 to 16 October 2026

The Global Week of Action to Stop Incineration is an international week of action running from 13 to 16 October 2026, during which organisations, environmental campaigners and local communities will be raising awareness of the harmful effects of waste incineration. The campaign is coordinated by GAIA (Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives), a global network committed to waste prevention and alternatives to incineration. During this week, actions, gatherings and online events will be organised worldwide, including an international online event on 15 October where activists will share their experiences of campaigning against waste incineration plants. The aim is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy, with less waste and more reuse, repair and recycling.
