How do we move from ambitious climate goals to concrete action? And what role do leadership, technology, data, imagination and circularity play in this process?

During this special edition of Data Thursday, held as part of National Climate Week in the Netherlands, we bring together two worlds: planetary thinking and practical action.

Daphne Laan is an entrepreneur, Board Whisperer, Human Tech Founder and connector of worlds. As Founding Partner of Planetir, she works to strengthen collective intelligence and connect people, ideas and resources to accelerate the shift from planetary thinking to planetary action. As co-founder of The Board Whisperers, she advises founders, CEOs and board members on transformation. Through House of Wonder, she explores how storytelling, art, imagination and human connection can open up new perspectives and accelerate systemic change. Previously, Daphne held leadership positions at Google and T-Mobile.

Her work lies at the intersection of leadership × technology × imagination × regeneration.

Alexander Forrest, Founder & CEO of Circular Intelligence, then brings circularity and data together in his talk, “How Data Leaders Can Use Circularity to Get a Board Mandate.”

For many organisations, the question is not whether they should make greater use of data, but how to secure sufficient executive backing and investment to do so. Circularity can provide a compelling business case. New European regulations on the circular economy will place increasingly stringent demands on reliable product and material data. At the same time, that very data can reveal where circularity reduces costs, creates new revenue streams and generates business value.

Alexander will show how data leaders can use circularity to translate climate and sustainability ambitions into a compelling business case for the board.

Together, we will explore how to move from ambition to implementation: from planetary thinking to planetary action, and from data to measurable impact.

Data Tribes is a Climate Supporter of National Climate Week in the Netherlands. Through this special edition of Data Thursday, we aim to bring together professionals from data, technology, business and the circular economy to share knowledge, build new connections and, above all, turn ideas into action.
