Description

Urban nature is often at odds with the city. Grand schemes, new-build developments, housing and motorways cutting right through the city often take precedence over green spaces. There are all sorts of ways to give nature in the city a helping hand. During this excursion, we’ll show you a number of examples of this. We’ll explain why parts of the Dom are submerged in water and why there are gaps in the Nieuwekade. Where the horse market once stood, a new section of Singelpark has now been created. Where a house once stood, nature is taking its own course. Join us on an adventure and discover the old and the new this November. The tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Organised by: IVN Vecht and Plassengebied Branch, Urban Nature Working Group. Cost: free, though a donation to IVN would be appreciated. Location: once you’ve registered, you’ll be sent the meeting point shortly before the event. Register via stadsnatuur@ivnutrecht.nl.
