Opening exposition: Climate Poems: Young People speak out
Description
On Monday, 2 November 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, the exhibition Climate Poems: Young People Speak Out will officially open at the OBA library on Mercatorplein. You are warmly invited! Feel free to bring friends, family and acquaintances.
The climate crisis affects us all, but young people will be particularly affected. After all, it is their future at stake.
More than 150 young people wrote a poem about the climate. During a masterclass, they explored their opinions, doubts, hopes and questions. They documented and shaped this journey in several stages. The unedited results are presented in the exhibition.
Several poems will be read aloud during the opening.
Street artist Priscilla Koopman will create a live artwork together with those attending. In addition, Daniëlle de Jager, an executive board member of Amsterdam West District, will talk about Amsterdam West’s climate plans. There will also be mocktails, snacks and music by DJ Kaya Linnemann!
