On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the eighteenth edition of the Saxo Dam tot Dam FietsClassic will take place. This iconic cycling event connects the heart of Amsterdam with Zaandam and attracts thousands of cyclists from across the country every year. Whether you are a recreational cyclist taking part for the first time or an experienced road cyclist looking for a serious challenge, with six different distances there is a route to suit everyone.
The ride starts on Dam Square in Amsterdam, right in the heart of the city. From there, you will be among the very first to cycle through the famous IJ Tunnel – completely free of cars and opened especially for participants. This is a unique experience that is only possible once a year. The route then takes you through the beautiful polders and characteristic villages of North Holland, before finishing in Zaandam or returning to Amsterdam.
