Seeds in the Lutkemeerpolder
Description
On Sunday 4 October 2026 at 1.00 pm, we’ll go on a short walk of about 2 km through the Lutkemeerpolder and across the fields of De Boterbloem. Along the way, we’ll talk about the history, agriculture and future of this unique area, with a special focus on seeds. Catherina Giskes will lead the tour and talk about the importance of seeds. Frederik van Oudenhoven from the CSA seed network will provide information on propagating, cleaning, marketing and breeding seeds, as well as setting up a seed network. Friso van Overbeek from CSA Pluk will talk about seed propagation and local organic food production. The walk lasts approximately 2 hours and ends with apple pie and a Q&A session. Julina from School of Softness will be there to run a wool workshop. Participation is free, open to anyone aged 10 and over, with a maximum of 20 participants.
