The Ceuvel Autumn Festival – Alternative World Animal Day

We’re celebrating the season: the leaves are falling and animals and plants are preparing for winter. 4 October is World Animal Day, a fitting occasion to encourage people to broaden their horizons beyond their own pets and celebrate all the animals in their local environment. This year’s event focuses on the period of rest that these animals enter from October onwards – both on the water and on land. There will be workshops where you can make something for animals yourself, mini-safaris where you can learn about the wildlife in your neighbourhood, inspiring talks and documentaries, music and interactive theatre at De Ceuvel. The programme starts at 11.00 with an animal puppet show and runs until 17.00, featuring, amongst other things, a festive opening, live music, hedgehog house-building workshops, mini-safaris, bird garland making, animal bingo and a closing performance of site-specific theatre by the Snowapple collective. The venue is De Ceuvel, Korte Papaverweg 2–6, 1032 KB Amsterdam. Admission is free.
